Inadequate ventilation (breathing) is present if:
There is cyanosis,
Respiratory rate less than 8/min and more than 20/min,
Absence of breath sounds on auscultation of the chest
Presence of wheezing
Results of arterial blood of PO2 < 90 mm Hg and PCO2 >40 mm Hg.
